Introduction to rapid reviews and scoping reviews: a 5-part webinar series

The School of Public Health (SOPH) at the University of the Western Cape invites you to a 5-part webinar series introducing rapid reviews and scoping reviews in the field of Public Health and Health Systems research.

This webinar series is aimed at SOPH students and alumni, as well as Faculty of Community and Health Sciences colleagues. 

Sessions are run weekly on Tuesday at 15h00 to 17h00 SAST,

starting on 21 September 2021 and ending 19 October 2021

Purpose/rationale
The aim of this webinar series is to introduce the methods for conducting rapid reviews and scoping reviews, and provide you with practical examples of these types of reviews.

  • Understanding of the role of rapid reviews and scoping reviews in Public Health and Health Systems research
  • Understanding the different purposes of rapid reviews and scoping reviews
  • Understanding the broad steps in conducting a rapid review and scoping review, and knowing where to find appropriate resources

  • Session 1 (21 September): Broad introduction to different types of systematic reviews, including rapid reviews and scoping reviews
  • Session 2 (28 September): Introduction to rapid reviews (part 1)
  • Session 3 (5 October): Practical examples of and experiences with conducting rapid reviews (part 2)
  • Session 4 (12 October): Introduction to scoping reviews (part 1)
  • Session 5 (19 October): Practical examples of and experiences with conducting scoping reviews (part 2)
