Dr Ebenezer Wiafe

Dr Wiafe is interested in strategies aimed at improving the early detection of adult-focused and childhood cancers, and patient safety with a special interest in pharmacovigilance.

As trained pharmacist he also has interests in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics and pharmacokinetics.

Dr Wiafe joined the Centre of Excellence for Pharmacovigilance in Southern Africa (CEPSA), School of Public Health (SOPH), in February 2025 as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow.
Ebenezer’s doctoral research focused on the development of a Ghanaian prostate cancer knowledge assessment tool. Previously, he had worked on several systematic reviews; conducted a prostate cancer pharmacoeconomic study; investigated the safe disposal of pharmaceutical waste; and contributed to the assessment and improvement of the knowledge of community members/healthcare professionals in various disease conditions.
