Linda Shuro’s training is in Health Promotion.  Her core thematic interests are in Health Promotion, Community Participation in Health, Health Policy Analysis, Intervention Mapping and Evaluation Frameworks.  Linda joined the School of Public Health (SOPH) at the University of Western Cape in January 2022, where she currently serves as a Post Doctoral Fellow.

In this role, she leads evaluation activities of multi-site community-based participatory projects, co-marks the Health Promotion module for master’s students, and supervises MPH students. She has worked in several African countries including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Malawi and Mozambique and across the African region.

Linda’s research involvement spans a wide range of topics, including interprofessional education, community-based education, and the evaluation of health policies and community-based participatory research. Her research interests align with her professional experience, focusing on interprofessional education, reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, substance use, nutrition, primary health care, under-two immunization, health and human rights, and health policy analysis. Her current research involves evaluating a multi-site community participatory-based project to achieve full childhood immunization coverage in Mozambique and Malawi
