Dr. Fidele Kanyimbu Mukinda

Fidele Kanyimbu Mukinda is a Medical Doctor trained in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

He has a BSc and an MBChB from the University of Lubumbashi (2006), a Master’s of Science in Medical Sciences (Clinical Epidemiology) from Stellenbosch University in South Africa (2010). For six year, he worked at Stellenbosch University as researcher and lecturer. He was involved in a number of activities including teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate), coordinating an MPhil in Health Systems Research, co-supervising masters students’ research projects, etc.

He joined the School of Public Health of the University of the Western Cape in October 2016 as Senior Researcher involved in an evaluation of an intervention to reduce maternal and child mortality, which will inform his

PhD research questions. His research interests include health systems governance and leadership, district health system strengthening, health system and policy research, maternal and child health, infectious diseases (TB, HIV/AIDS).
