Please join us and add your voice to USAID’s side session on expanding essential health services to marginalized groups in low- and middle-income settings. This engaging session will draw on country experiences and global evidence to explore strategies to expand financial protection to those who are often excluded ‒ the informal sector and the poor ‒ and how initiatives targeting the most vulnerable can be sustained and scaled up. Speakers will use talk show and debate formats to review the challenges and lessons encountered with taking innovations to scale.
Speakers will include:
- Jennifer Adams – Acting Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Global Health, USAID
- Asha George – South African Research Chair in Health Systems, Complexity and Social Change, School of Public Health, University of the Western Cape
- Davidson Gwatkin – Global Leader in Health Equity and Economic Development and a Senior Fellow at the Results for Development Institute
- Prastuti (Ibu Becky) Soewondo – Head of the Policy Working Group on Health Insurance at TNP2K (National Team for Poverty Reduction), Government of Indonesia
