The School of Public Health [SoPH] was highly honoured to host the Rector and Vice Chancellor of the University of the Western Cape on a walk-about.

On Friday 24 April, the School of Public Health [SoPH] was highly honoured to host the Rector and Vice Chancellor of the University of the Western Cape on a walk-about. During the visit, Prof. Balfour was welcomed on the ground floor by the leadership of the School led by the Director of SoPH, Prof. Olagoke Akintola, the Research Programme Leader, Prof. Asha George, the Academic Programme Leader, Dr Anam Nyembezi, the Operational Manager, Ms Nolitha Komeni. They were joined by the Executive Committee of the School [SoPH Exec] and other SoPH Professors and Associate Professors.

Starting on the ground floor and ending on the fourth floor, Prof. Balfour patiently walked through virtually every event, meeting and teaching room and space in the SoPH building. He also took time to meet, interact and connect with each staff, Mastercard [MPH], doctoral and postdoctoral students individually in their respective offices and spaces while asking and answering questions. Thereafter, the Rector spent some time interacting with the leadership team in the SoPH boardroom learning about our work and brainstorming possible solutions to our challenges.
